Last Thursday and Friday was the most important moment of the year: the harvest began at Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera. The harvest began with the night harvest of the white varieties that were already at their optimum point for harvesting: Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc.
This first harvest took place on the outskirts of Alpera, in an area close to the town. Despite the high temperatures, the vines have very favourable conditions, so it is expected that the resulting white wines from this vintage will once again be excellent. It should be noted that this year, due to the heat, the grapes were harvested earlier than in previous years. Even so, the grapes are of excellent quality and health.
Regarding the Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties, our technical team is supervising and controlling that the grapes are ripening correctly despite the high temperatures. The harvest is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
