The wines of Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera are once again at the top of the Castilla-La Mancha ‘Gran Selección Campo y Alma’ awards competition. In this year’s edition, our most emblematic red wine, the Gold Rupestre, has won the award for ‘best wine in vintages prior to 2022’, leaving our winery as the only one awarded in our Denominación de Origen Almansa and in the province of Albacete.
On this occasion, the event took place at the Teatro Regio in the neighbouring town of Almansa, which was the setting for this 35th edition of the ‘Gran Selección Campo y Alma’ awards, where six wines from wineries in our region received awards. Laura Romero, administration and finance director of our winery, was in charge of receiving the award for our 100% Garnacha Tintorera wine from Emiliano García Page, president of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha and the mayoress of Almansa, Pilar Callado. Our winery was also represented by Raúl Sánchez, field technician of Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera and by Rafael Lázaro, member of the Board of Directors of our winery.
In this way, our most emblematic and well-known wine, Gold Rupestre, has once again won another award in the Castilian-La Mancha competition, after winning a silver medal last year in the ‘red wine category in vintages prior to 2021’.
Laura Romero highlighted the importance of being ‘one more year among the award-winning wineries in this important regional competition, where our winery has been winning prizes in recent years. It is yet another recognition that summarises the great work being done by the entire team of professionals at our winery to produce quality wines such as Gold Rupestre’.
