Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera makes history in the Gilbert & Gaillard with six medals

  • Post category:Awards / News

The wines of Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera achieve a historic milestone in Gilbert & Gaillard, one of the most recognized wine magazines worldwide and a reference in France. On this occasion, we got three double gold medals and three gold medals in this year’s edition, adding a total of six new medals and thus surpassing the four medals (double gold and three golds) that our winery got in 2022.

All in all, our Cueva del Chamán range of wines was the big winner of the competition. Three wines have won a double gold medal, the highest award at Gilbert & Gaillard: Cueva del Chamán Roble Monastrell 2021, Cueva del Chamán Maceración Carbónica Garnacha Tintorera 2022 and Cueva del Chamán Roble Garnacha Tintorera 2022.

Particularly noteworthy is the case of our Cueva del Chamán Roble Garnacha Tintorera, which repeats the “Gran Oro” medal for the second consecutive year, making it one of the benchmark wines in this competition in our Almansa Denomination of Origin. Three of our wines also won three important gold medals: Cueva del Chamán Verdejo 2022, Cueva del Chamán Rosé Syrah 2022 and Albarroble Sauvignon Blanc 2022.

Jorge Morales, commercial director of Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera, has highlighted “the importance of returning not only to get awards in Gilbert & Gaillard, but the fact of achieving a greater number of them”. These new awards “are a new international accolade for our wines at a time when we continue to achieve better scores in the most important wine competitions in the world”.
